 Customer & Guidebook Reviews

Hi Frank,

Just wanted to drop a note and say thank-you for a wonderful stay. I had forgotten just how beautiful the  Keys were and just how friendly some of the people there are after  20 years away from the area. Needless to say we will be back again and SOON and we will be staying with you again without a doubt. My wife was all smiles over the “cider” and that you had recognized that it was her birthday.

Thanks again, Paul and Darlene Roark   2nd trip here this year!!

hi Frank...just wanted to say thank you for a great stay at the Siesta. I was the one who came with my son on Thursday evening just when u were about to leave. Thanks again for the late accomodations and having such a great rate for the amenities in the room you provide! We loved it! We do plan to return again soon and you better believe that we will be at your door again! you're awesome!

Thanks again for another wonderful stay and great hospitality!!

Not Fancy but Perfect.

Not fancy and expensive but everything and more than we expected for a small motel.  Keep up the great work and we can't wait to see you next time...

“What a Wonderful Place ( georgia)”
Playfulsmiles - reviewer  Georgia

We had gone to the Keys for the first time ever and had a big group. When we pulled up to the motel we were not to sure but I am telling you the place was fantastic !!! the rooms were spotless and the garden in back was the best !!! We stayed there for 4 days and anything that we asked for was given to us with out delay !! Frank was a dream !! I would recommend this motel in a heart beat !! It's not for the snobby people that want to spend 500 a night, its for the normal hard working person that wants to get away !! I will be sure to go there again when we go down to the keys !! Hats off to you Frank you can tell that you work hard to keep your place very nice !!!!

GREAT PLACE TO STAY
By A Yahoo! Contributer,
THERE IS NOTHING TO DISLIKE THE OWENERS ARE VERY FRIENDLY, AND MAIDSERVIVE IS VERY GOOD, I HAVE BEEN COMING TOO THIS MOTEL FOR 3 MONTHS MY SON IS IN THE HOSPITAL AND THE OWNERS HAVE BEEN VERY KIND TO ME ON EVERYTHING ALWAYS ASKING HOW MY SON IS. IT MAY NOT BE FANCY BUT IT HAS EVERYTHING YOU NEED AND MORE. I RECOMMEND IT MORE THAN I WOULD THE HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS DOWN THE ROAD. A VERY A++++ I RECOMMEND HIGHLY.

Outstandingly Fun Place To Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributer,
My wife and I loved the comfortable atmosphere of Siesta Motel. Frank and his wife, Chris absolutely go out of their way to be sure we had everything we needed and the room was kept amazingly clean. Authentic "old time Keys" style. The garden/cookout area in back is very private with beautiful tropical gardens. Great location in Marathon close to restaurants, shopping and Sombrero City Beach (beautiful)less than five minutes away. We plan stay at Siesta the next time we are in the Keys. John and Lynne, NC.

Dependable and honest owner
By A Yahoo! Contributer,
I have never stayed in this motel, but, I had a very gratifying experience in dealing with Frank, the owner. Somehow a suitcase belonging to a friend of mine from Montreal, Canada was found in a room that had been occupied by other clients, who must have taken her suitcase by mistake when they were all checking out of a Miami Beach hotel. All she knew is that she was missing a suitcase and had no idea where it was.Frank was nice enough to contact my friend in Montreal and afterwards took her suitcase to UPS and sent it to her. It arrived intact.
The honesty of the housekeeper who found it and Frank's effort to make sure she received it is admirable. Just for this reason, I would certainly stay at this motel on my next trip to the Keys.
With gratitude from Joceline Fortin, Montreal, Canada.

Perfect Inexpensive Spot
By A Yahoo! Contributer,
We have been fishing in the Keys for 25 years and always stay at the Siesta. it is the perfect spot if you just need a place to relax after your day of fun in the keys. Very clean, very friendly!

I am going down again to visit!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributer,
I like how it had a fridge and it had a microwave. Also everything was very clean. I like how the rooms didn't smell like cigarette. The beds were very comfortable.

What a great little Gem !!
By A Yahoo! Contributer,
This is a perfect little gem in the Florida Keys.. The rooms are good sized and extremely clean. Frank and Teena were absolutely great hosts and answered all our questions and steered us to some out of the way Keys secrets. What a fantastic time. The nearby beaches are great and you don't want to leave. If you want brand new and modern and want to spend over $300 night stay at one of the new luxury condos or hotels - We would rather stay at this special little mom and pop and spend those extra bucks on other things especially some of the great restaurants nearby. We will be seeing them again and hopefully soon.

Siesta Motel - Perfect Name
By A Yahoo! Contributer,
This is the greatest place to stay. Frank (the owner) is fabulous and overly accomodating. He is always a phone call away as he lives next door. The place is charming, quiet, extremely clean and priced just right. Centrally located it is a quick jog down to Key West or back up towards Islamorado. Kathy S.

Enjoyable Stay
By patcat smiley,
When we made our reservation the staff was very friendly and informative, especially for our late nite arrival. The staff accomodated us at every turn and met our requests quickly and without complaint, offered tips and advice on local spots. The rooms were VERY clean, and met our needs. We were prepared for the small parking lot, we were prepared for being on a major roadway thanks to the Yahoo reviews. Neither one bothered us any. The hotel is conveniently located and easy to find and we will definitely be returning again. Thank you all for everything you did for our stay.

WOW! What a great vacation!
By A Yahoo! Contributer,
My dive buddy Mike and I stayed at the Siesta for three nights right on the tail end of Hurricane Rita (the storm bands were still passing overhead when we arrived) - we had an excellent time. The owner, Frank, was the consummate host, taking time to personally make sure we were settled in and had everything we needed. And I mean EVERYTHING - these folks were VERY accomodating. The place had a real local charm, a "family feel" to it that reminded me of past vacations in Jamaica. I would imagine that (given the right combination of guests) some pretty incredible parties have developed. The rates were great, the central location gave us easy access to pretty much everything in the Keys, the clean rooms and that authentic "Island" atmosphere all worked together with some awesome diving to make our trip fun and memorable. I will definitely stay with them again.

What a Blast !!!
By jkimberlyrice,
Loved this Great little motel. Rooms were spic n span clean, spacious, good extras and perfect location. Minutes from spectacular beaches, great restaurants, diving/snorkeling trips to great reefs. The price is excellent compared to ther places that are not as good. This was our second time in 1 year and we will be back.

New Year Eve 2004
By Mharq Lankford,
I was able get a room on the very night of new Years Eve. As I drove trough the Keys I found every hotel, motel, hostel, campground, etc was booked solid. There were no vacanies at all. I also discovered the Siesta was booked solid as well. But I was able to get a nice quaint room for an extremely great price. I spent 1/10th of what I would have spent if I went to Key West. Where the lowest price for a room was 256.56 and that was for a room with nothing. I loved the Siesta so much I am booking my next New Years Eve excursion with them.

Great base for FUN!
By Fr. Tim+,
The efficiency was extremely clean and had the necessities. For a classic roadside motel it exceeded our expectations. The owners were really nice and made numerous recommendations for activities and restaurants that were all great.  Great location, close enough for a day trip to Key West and handy for beaches, snorkeling & fishing. Marathon ...

Excellent place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributer,
Loved the quiet and cleanliness of the rooms. The back garden is beautiful. Would recommend the Siesta Motel to anyone! My reservations for the following year are made every year when I check out. I will always stay at the Siesta when I'm in the Keys.

Charley didn't stop me
By A Yahoo! Contributer,
I spent a couple of nights in Marathon during the Hurricane Charley fiasco. I really wished he had gone another way because my stay at Siesta was great. The rooms were charming and spotless. The staff was wonderful. They were helpful, friendly and made my stay enjoyable. The location cannot be beat: right on the highway, not too far from DRC and not too far from BHSP.

We found this place by accident, stopped in and the manager had a room available.
The place was truly clean, no roaches!
Free paper in the morning, coffee as well.
A very good place and a good value for the money.
10 minutes to the best fishing places in the world!
I am very likely to return to the Siesta Motel Marathon.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

We booked this motel strictly by the reviews we read prior to choosing this motel. We booked an efficiency-very clean, very comfortable and for the price...you're crazy not to stay here! The airport noise was minimal as only small planes are able to land there. We took full advantage of the grill and picnic area and pool access. Frank and his wife were extremely helpful and available, literally, 24/7! We came with our kayaks and 4 year old and had a ball! We have recommended the Siesta Motel to our friends and family and will stay there again! LOVED IT!
Just a tip for you kayakers/canoers: Bring your own charts/maps and read up on where to paddle. (A GREAT resource is," Florida Keys Paddling Atlas," by Bill and Mary Burnham) Marathon Kayak, as with many other outfitters, ONLY give maps/charts/tips to registered guides, and they will inform you of this matter-of-fact. The guy at Marathon Kayak was, putting it nicely, RUDE! Luckily, we had our paddling atlas which was our bible! We found some great places to put-in and fish, on our own, and had an awesome time!
GREAT PLACE TO EAT: Sparkey's Landing off of Sadowski Causeway- Shrimp and Bacon Pizza and/or Fish Tacos-OUT OF THIS WORLD!
Cleanest Rooms in Paradise !!
